ATTENTION VIKING SOFTBALL!!

The 2012 softball season is right around the corner.  If you intend to tryout on Monday February 13^th you need to make sure you have your athletic packet turned in to the school before then.  You will also need to have a current physical on file.  They expire annually so make sure yours is current.  You must have a current physical before you are allowed to participate in school sports.  The forms are available in the school office; you can get them from Mrs. Lange, Mr. Daugherty, or Coach Buckwell.  They are also available on the School http://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/central/athletics.htm and Team website (www.ccvikingsoftball.com).  You can find them under the downloads tab on this (the team) website.  Please pass the word to the other girls not on the email list.

 We have scheduled open field workouts for the following days from 3:00PM to 5:00PM.

Thursday January 26
Monday January 30
Wednesday February 1
Thursday February 2
Tuesday February 7
Wednesday February 8
Friday February 10

Everyone should try to make as many of these as you can.  The season starts with tryouts on Monday February 13^th.  Our first scrimmage is Saturday February 18.  That does not leave very much time to prepare for the season.

2011 College Signings

Softball player Tori Cragan signed her letter of intent to attend Chowan University on Thursday, November 10 at Central Cabarrus High School.

Softball player Mellena Helms signed her letter of intent to attend USC Upstate on Thursday, November 10 at Central Cabarrus High School.

Attention Viking Softball Fans, Family, and Alumni!

The Viking softball team has been working to cover the batting cages at the softball field.  The framework has been installed and we need to raise an additional $3500.00 to finish the roof.  We would love to have this completed by the end of the school year.

We started a fundraiser this week selling cases of drinks through Sun Drop Bottling Co.  The team makes $5.00 per case so please sell as many as possible.  Please have the girls make contact with their teachers at school.  The teachers really have supported us in the past.  We will collect the orders next Friday April 01, and the drinks will be delivered the next week.

We are also asking past and present families, fans and team members to donate to the completion of the project.  We are setting up donation levels as follows.

  $1 -  $20   =  Base Hit

$21 -  $50   =  Double

$51 -  $100  =  Triple

$101 - $250 =  Home Run

$251+   =     Grand Slam
